Sunday School and Nursery

At St. Andrew’s Presbyterian Church, children are a cherished part of our church family. Our Sunday School and Nursery programs provide a welcoming, age-appropriate space where children are cared for, encouraged, and gently introduced to faith through stories, play, creativity, and kindness.
The purpose of Sunday School and Nursery is to:
- Help children experience God’s love in simple, meaningful ways
- Encourage curiosity, kindness, and compassion
- Support families as they grow in faith together
- Create a sense of belonging within the church community
Parents and caregivers can worship with peace of mind, knowing their children are safe, supported, and well cared for.
Sunday School - Children's Church
Sunday School offers children an engaging and relaxed environment where faith is explored through:
- Bible stories
- Crafts and hands-on activities
- Games and discussion
- Learning how faith connects to everyday life
- Play time in our kids room
- The focus is on learning in ways that feel joyful, accessible, and encouraging.
Nursery
Our Nursery provides a calm, caring space for babies and toddlers to play, rest, and be nurtured. The environment is designed to feel safe, familiar, and comforting, with age-appropriate toys and activities.

Time: Sundays at 10:30 AM (children are called to join the program during the worship service)
Location: Children’s area – basement level
Cost: Free – no cost to attend

What to Expect
Safety First
- The safety and well-being of all children is our highest priority.
- Each program is staffed by two volunteers: a lead teacher and a student or assistant volunteer
All volunteers are vetted and screened, including required background checks in accordance with Canadian standards
Care & Inclusion
- All children are welcome
- Programs are designed to be inclusive, gentle, and adaptable
- Children are supported with patience, respect, and understanding
Location
Both Sunday School and Nursery take place in the children’s area located in the basement level of the church, where you’ll find:
- Sunday School classrooms
- a large playroom for babies and toddlers
- A games & activity area for older children
The playroom and the games & activities area are two sides of one larger room, thoughtfully divided by a large, comfortable sofa, allowing separation for safe play, while maintaining openness, supervision of and access to all children at all times.
